Dr Gerard Lyons is an economist described by The Times as, “one of the most influential analysts of the global economy”. He is Chief Economic Strategist at Netwealth Investments, which he helped establish in 2016, Board member of both Bank of China (UK) and BGC Partners, Advisory Board member of both the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and Warwick Business School, and senior fellow at Policy Exchange. Some previous roles include Head of Global Research and Chief Economist at Standard Chartered Bank, Member of Councils for the World Economic Forum, Member of the EU Commission’s Network of China Experts, Lead Advisor to PM Gordon Brown’s 2008 Business Council, Chief Economic Advisor to Boris Johnson when Mayor of London, and in 2019 he was a candidate to be Governor of the Bank of England.
