David Osman

After graduating with an Honours Degree in Economics from Nottingham University in 1975, David became a Stockbroking Economist, covering first the UK, then the G7 economies and from 1987 - 2020 specialising in Asia. From 1987-1991, David was HSBC/James Capel’s Senior Pacific Basin Economist.

In 1991, David became a specialist Asian Equity Salesman with a macro orientation, first with Sassoon (Europe) and then with Smith NewCourt/Merrill Lynch. In 1999, he joined South China Securities (UK) Ltd as an Asian Equity Salesman and Strategist, becoming the Director of Sales and Institutional Research in 2000.  From September 2005 - March 2020 David was employed by UOB KayHian as a member of the Asian Equity Sales team in London. In 2007 he became a Director of UOB Kay Hian (UK) Ltd.

David is now an independent Economics & Financial Markets consultant with links to the Independent Research Forum.  He has been  a member of the Society of Professional Economists (formerly the Society of Business Economists) for over forty years. He was appointed a Director of Halkin Services Limited in May 2020.
