Robert Brooke

Robert Brooke has an MA in modern languages from Cambridge University in England and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He has lived, worked and taught around the world, including periods in Canada, France, Germany and Japan as well as Britain.

A lifelong observer of matters Japanese, he first lived in Japan in 1982. He then worked for various international investment banks based in London as analyst and strategist covering the Tokyo stock market from 1985 to 1992. In 1992, Robert founded Brooke Research Ltd, an independent investment research company offering financial institutions advice on the Tokyo stock market, which he continues to run.

Other ventures have included Brooke O’Connor Ltd, a marketing consultancy, and Rhombus Research Ltd (with Peter Warburton, Robin Aspinall and Tony Plummer), which provided independent investment advice to senior fund managers. Robert also now acts as consultant to the award-winning GLG Japan team.
